Key Takeaways:

  • The Food Industry's Dark Origins: The processed food industry was created by the cigarette industry, which transitioned from making addictive cigarettes to making addictive foods.

  • The Food Pyramid: The cigarette industry was responsible for creating the food pyramid and even paid off the FDA to endorse it.

  • Ultra-Processed Food: Our food is engineered to be addictive. Ingredients like "natural flavors" are carefully crafted to keep us hooked and over-consuming.

  • Seed Oils: The top source of calories in the American diet is seed oils, which were originally a byproduct of oil production (think engine lubricant) and are not made for human consumption.

  • The Health Crisis: These unnatural ingredients are causing widespread inflammation, disease, and various health side effects in humans.

  • The healthcare system profits off us being sick, with a particular emphasis on how a sick child is the most profitable patient.

  • This episode sheds light on the dark relationship between the healthcare system and the food industry, highlighting how they work together to keep us unhealthy.

  • Many of the pesticides and herbicides used in the U.S. are banned in other countries yet being used at alarming rates here.

  • These chemicals are endocrine disruptors, contributing to reproductive issues for women, children, and men today.

  • Depression, ADHD, and metabolic diseases are rising, partially fueled by the way our food is designed to disrupt brain chemistry and emotional well-being.

  • Ozempic and other quick-fix drugs are becoming popular as short-term solutions, but they fail to address the root cause of why people are unhealthy.

MY TAKE

We are at war—and the battlefield is our health, our minds, and our connection to ourselves. We are sicker, more stressed, angrier, and less connected than ever before. They say in this podcast that kids today spend less time outside than prisoners, like what is going on! We’ve lost our way, and the system is designed to keep us stuck.

Everything around us—commercials, ads, food—has been carefully crafted by people who understand our biology and use it against us. This is keeping us trapped in a loop of poor health, unhappiness, and constant consumption. Everything is designed to make us addicted and disconnected.

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, expecting different results. We can’t expect a pill or an injection to save us while continuing the same unhealthy habits that got us here. There are no coincidences—your patterns are right in front of you, waiting to be fixed. But YOU have to start making changes. You want better health, a different reality, more time, freedom, joy—well, you have to be the one to make that happen by making new choices and becoming someone new.

My mission is to help you understand your biology so you can use it to work for you. The truth is, we have more power than we realize. We just need to wake up to it.

The way we’re living right now isn’t working. We’re divided, emotionally disconnected, and reaching for quick fixes—whether it’s new drugs or the latest health trend—to feel something real again. What we truly need is to reconnect with ourselves. To heal from within.

When you start to understand your body and your emotions—when you learn to love and appreciate yourself—you begin to make better choices. Choices that aren’t driven by fear or manipulation, but by a deep sense of knowing who you are and what’s best for you.

With love and gratitude,

Stephanie

Helpful Tips

  • Cut out plastics and cans: Avoid storing or consuming food and drinks in plastic or canned containers as they can leach harmful chemicals.

  • Switch to non-toxic products: Replace home, body, skin, face, makeup, personal care, and deodorant products with non-toxic alternatives. These everyday items are loaded with harmful chemicals that get absorbed into your body. There’s a clean swap for almost everything, so there’s no excuse!

  • Ditch non-stick pans: Opt for stainless steel or cast iron cookware instead. Non-stick pans are coated with chemicals that can release toxins when heated.

  • Filter your water: Stop drinking tap water, even if it’s “filtered” by the city. Stop drinking water out of plastic bottles! Install high-quality filters at home to ensure your water is clean and free from contaminants.

  • Avoid fluoride in toothpaste: Choose fluoride-free toothpaste to reduce exposure to unnecessary chemicals.

  • Skip the middle aisles at the grocery store: These aisles are packed with ultra-processed foods loaded with additives and chemicals. Opt for clean, whole foods without addictive substances.

  • Do it for yourself, not just your kids: The toxins and chemicals you’re exposed to are building up in your system over time. Cancer and disease are becoming more prevalent and affecting younger generations. Take action now.

  • Eat organic fruits and vegetables: Whenever possible, choose organic produce to avoid exposure to pesticides and other harmful chemicals.

  • Stick to wild-caught fish: Avoid farm-raised fish, which are often fed unnatural diets and exposed to chemicals. Wild-caught fish is a healthier option.

  • Choose pasture-raised and organic meats and eggs: Opt for 100% grass-fed meats and pasture-raised eggs where possible.

  • Simplify your meals: Opt for whole, unprocessed foods whenever possible. The less processed, the better for your health.

  • Get outside: Spend time outdoors, connecting with nature to reduce stress and improve mental and physical well-being.

  • Ladies, get off birth control: Birth control can disconnect you from your body and intuition, and it depletes all essential nutrients from your body. There are many alternative ways to track your cycle.
